The online resource, Wikipedia, defines the State of the Union Address as
:

...an annual address presented by the President of the United States to the United States Congress. The address not only reports on the condition of the nation but also allows the president to outline his agenda and national priorities to Congress.
As I write today, I wonder if many of those in Network Marketing would be able to present their own State of the Union address to those in their downlines or to prospects?  Those that can are almost always different than those that can't in one major way - they treat their business like a business and not like a hobby.

One of the greatest pieces of advice I've gotten in Network Marketing came from my personal enroller (one of the top 10 of our company).  He said:
Treat your business like a business and not like a hobby.  Hobbies cost money... Businesses make money.

This is what I would like to encourage you to do today - treat your business like a business!  When you begin to do that, giving a "State of the Union Address" becomes a part of your daily routine.  You are able to say at the drop of a hat:
  • Were has your company been (How did you get started / What's your story)?
  • What is the state of your company now (How much business did you do this week)?
  • Where is your company going (What are you planning on doing TODAY to grow your business)?
If you will begin to treat your business like a business, I am confident you will see growth.  Understanding that all companies have good months and bad months, you will be able to ride the undulating tide of "No's" as you sort people out for your company.  You won't take offense when people don't want to join you in your venture or when they don't see the "Big Picture" like you do.  Why?  Because it's just business!

Take time today to evaluate your business; have your own "State of the Union Address".  And let today be the beginning of a great transition from having a hobby to owning a business!

Applauding You,
Networker Coach
